Eastern Europe

Our cigarette volumes are growing in Eastern Europe and we remain focused on building on our success.

Eastern Europe generates more than 50 per cent of our Rest of the World cigarette volumes, predominantly in Russia and the Ukraine.

Africa & Middle East

The acquisition of Altadis has enhanced our position in this important growth region, giving us a market leading position in Morocco.

We also have an established presence in the sub-Saharan area of Africa, through our strong portfolio of local brands including Fine, Excellence and Mustang.

In the Middle East we continue to drive market share growth through the development of our international brands Gauloises Blondes and Davidoff.

Asia and Australasia

Our presence in Asia has been strengthened as a result of the Altadis acquisition and we now have a strong position in Cambodia. We have a further significant presence in Taiwan, Laos and Vietnam. In China we benefit from our positive collaboration with the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration and the Yuxi Hongta Group.

Davidoff, our international strategic premium brand, has been launched in additional markets in 2010 such as South Korea and India.

The mature markets of Australia and New Zealand are among the most regulated in the world, although we continue to demonstrate our ability to successfully operate in these challenging environments.
