Kiev factory visit
4 January, 2013
Our factory in Kiev hosted a delegation of civic dignitaries to mark the 150th anniversary of our Ukrainian business.
The group, led by the city's Deputy Mayor Anatoliy Holubchenko, was shown all aspects of the manufacturing and supply chain processes during a tour of our newly extended facilities.
Our senior management team in Ukraine then met with the delegation to discuss regulatory developments, excise policy and illicit trade issues.
The result was an agreement to strengthen existing joint co-operation activities to tackle the growing problem of illicit tobacco products in the capital city.
Eugene Walsh, General Manager Ukraine, said: “Imperial is one of the largest tax-payers, producers and employers here in Kiev with a long heritage in this city.
“We believe site visits like this help external stakeholders to better understand our business and the regulatory pressures we face as well as support our efforts to tackle illicit trade.”
